GA Chapter Hosts 52 for Restoration Symposium

SCRT Hosts 52 for Full Day Event in Georgia

Feb 1, 2011 The Georgia Chapter of SCRT held a Restoration Technology and Diversification Symposium hosted by The Cleaner’s Coach at Truckmounts & Cleaning Solutions in Norcross, Georgia. 52 attended.

Jeremy Reets from Reets Drying Academy led a discussion on how to use heat and calculate evaporation potential in restorative  drying  with a live demonstration in the on-site flood house.

Bill Coy from Sensible Life Products, makers of Benefect Botanical Disinfectant explained how to read EPA-registered product labels and use environmentally-safe products made for cleaning and restoration contractors.

 Slade Smith with Bio-Reveal discussed the future of real-time  microbial testing.

SCRT Georgia Chapter President Cara Agerbeck from Abatement Technologies presented information to members on Portable Air Scrubber technology and the importance of using air filtration devices on restoration projects.

SCRT Technical Advisor, Jeff Bishop gave a Power Point presentation on successful diversification into the restoration industry.  He shared with members many of the possibilities available to grow with or without insurance  company PSP programs.

Gordy Powell from A1 Bio-Clean in Georgia provided insight into the challenges of trauma cleanup and bio-recovery services, complete with case studies and photographs of actual remediation projects.

Plans for additional Restoration Symposiums are being made to be held in North Carolina and Florida.  Watch the SCRT website for details.

 

SCRT Board Approves New Benefits at November Meeting

The SCRT Board of Directors held their annual fall board meeting in Atlanta, GA on November 5, 2010.  Two new benefits for SCRT members were approved.

 The board accepted a two-part offer from the Hydro Lab Training and Research Center in Cicero, IN.

First, beginning January 1, 2011 all new or renewing SCRT members will receive a $300.00 coupon towards one of four different advanced drying classes to be held at the Hydro Lab Center.  This offer will enable any member of the SCRT to recover all their membership fees by just taking one class.  Coupons will be mailed to members upon renewal.

 Second, the Hydro Lab Center is offering up to $40,000 in scholarships exclusively to SCRT members beginning January 1, 2011.  With this program in place, the value of scholarship opportunities available to SCRT members far exceeds the cost of membership.

 Another benefit approved for SCRT regular members is an offer for owners with multiple physical locations operating under the same ownership to have other physical locations listed on the SCRT website as members for an administrative fee of only $50.00.
