FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Brandon Burton

Named IICRC Standards Chairman

LAS VEGAS – Jan. 29, 2019 – The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) today announced Brandon Burton as its new Standards Chairman. Effective Jan. 1, 2019, Burton took over for longstanding Standards Chairman Howard Wolf.

“I’m excited to take on this new role within the IICRC,” said Burton. “Howie left some big shoes to fill, but I’m eager to begin this next chapter, and further develop the IICRC Standards program.”

Brandon has served the cleaning and restoration industry since 1995, with past employment as the Technical Director for Legend Brands and Training Director for the Restoration Sciences Academy.

Throughout his more than 20 years in the industry, Burton has worked to support rapidly developing technology and industry best practices, with a passion for promoting the industry’s continued growth and professionalism.

Brandon is an approved IICRC instructor in the categories of Applied Structural Drying (ASD) and Water Damage Restoration (WRT), and serves as the Vice Chair of the ANSI/IICRC S500 Consensus Body with a tenure of nearly 20 years as an active voting member.

“We’d like to thank Howard Wolf for his groundbreaking work as Standards Chairman for the last 6 years,” said Mili Washington, IICRC Standards Director. “Under Howie’s able leadership, we successfully launched the Standards subscription website, revised and published multiple American National Standards and initiated the development of several new industry Standards.”

IICRC Seeks Volunteers for New Standards - BSR/IICRC S530 and BSR/IICRC S590

LAS VEGAS – October 29, 2018 – The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) is  seeking volunteers to serve on consensus bodies for the development of two new Standards: BSR/IICRC S530 Standard for Indoor Environmental Assessment for Suspected Mold Contaminated Structures; and BSR/IICRC S590 Standard for HVAC Cleaning and Decontamination in a Water Damaged Environment.

IICRC is seeking volunteers for this Standard from restoration companies and workers; those who investigate or assess abnormal water intrusion, prepare restoration specifications, procedures and protocols, manage restoration projects (e.g., indoor environmental professionals (IEPs) and other specialized experts); and other potential materially interested parties (e.g., consumers and occupants, property owners and managers, insurance company representatives, government and regulatory bodies); property owners and managers, occupants and tenants, professional remediators, those who investigate mold complaints, property restorers, indoor environmental professionals, environmental consultants, industrial hygienists, building engineers, insurance companies and regulatory bodies.
