BSR-IICRC S540 New Draft Standard Available for Public Review

(LAS VEGAS) October 7, 2016 – The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification(IICRC) has opened a public review for the new draft BSR-IICRC S540 Standard for Trauma and Crime Scene Remediation. The draft S540 Standard is available from Oct.7 – Nov. 21 for public review.

The IICRC S540 Standard describes the procedures to be followed and the precautions to be taken when performing trauma and crime scene remediation regardless of surface, item, or location. It defines criteria and methodology used by the technician for inspecting and investigating blood and other potentially infectious material (OPIM) contamination, and for establishing work plans and procedures.

The IICRC S540 draft Standard is available for review and comment as part of the ANSI 45-day public review period. IICRC Announces Transition to Self-Management

LAS VEGAS - Aug. 15, 2016 - The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification<http://www.iicrc.org/> (IICRC) today announced that it has transitioned to self-management.  All operations will now be conducted by IICRC staff located within the Global Resource Center in Las Vegas.

"This is an exciting time for the IICRC," said IICRC Chairman Pete Duncanson. "Registrants, schools, instructors and Certified Firms will notice improvements every day.  Throughout this transition, our top priority is improving customer support."

The IICRC has already begun to implement numerous procedures to strengthen the Institute, including the hiring of a new customer satisfaction team. The IICRC will also have a new toll-free phone number (844-464-4272) and help desk email (helpdesk@iicrcnet.org<;mailto:helpdesk@iicrcnet.org>).
