IICRC Offers Marketing Clinic for Cleaning and Restoration Business Owners

LAS VEGAS – Nov. 30, 2017 – The IICRC announced today it will host a one-day Totally Booked University Strategic Marketing Mini-Clinic for those in the inspection, cleaning and restoration industry. Featuring discussions to help business owners and managers grow their businesses, the event will take place from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Jan. 31, 2018 at the IICRC’s Global Resource Center in Las Vegas.

“We’re always looking for ways to help our registrants grow their businesses,” said Pete Duncanson, IICRC Chairman. “This strategic workshop will offer attendees best practices for marketing their services, and provide tips for identifying and retaining new customers.”

Hosted by Jeff Cross, executive editor of Cleanfax and the creator of Totally Booked University, the Strategic Marketing Mini-Clinic will feature insider strategies for use on social media, company websites and other online tactics – including referral marketing – to get more customers, more jobs and more revenue.

“We put together a full day of business building tips and strategies with proof on how they work and how cleaners and restorers can reach more customers and book more jobs,” said Cross. “This workshop is a great way to spend the day with top-level business owners from across the country and share ideas that work.”

Registration for the Marketing Mini-Clinic is $299 for general registration, $199 for IICRC Certified Firms and includes lunch. To register, visit http://iicrc.site-ym.com/event/MarketingMiniClinic.

IICRC Calls for S400 Non-Voting Section Committee Volunteers

LAS VEGAS – November 28, 2017 – The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) is seeking volunteers to serve as non-voting section committee members on the consensus body for the BSR-IICRC S400 Standard for Cleaning, Maintenance and Restoration of the Commercial Built Environment. Applications are now being accepted.

The BSR-IICRC S400 will focus on the commercial built environment and define tasks, frequencies, production expectations, goals, results, principles, methods and processes to clean, maintain and restore the built environment (i.e. materials, building assemblies, structures, furniture, fixtures and equipment located inside a building envelope).

“This standard is being created because the commercial cleaning industry does not currently have industry consensus standards on the proper principles, methods and processes to generally clean and maintain the built environment,” said S400 Chairman Richard “Bo” Bodo. “Having an ANSI standard for commercial cleaning principles, methods and processes would provide guidance and a singular platform for the industry.”

Volunteers with knowledge of the manufacturing of cleaning related products; distributors of commercial cleaning goods, equipment and consumables; building service contractors; in-house or captive cleaning providers; managers and administrators of commercial facilities; manufacturers of goods and materials for the commercial built environment; specification writers; design engineers; building engineers; architects; consultants; inspectors; and health professionals are recommended.

Non-voting members can expect to begin work on the standard by the end of 2017 with nearly all meetings being held online and via conference calls. The new Standard is expected to be completed in approximately two years.

Those interested in submitting an application to serve as section committee members on the S400 consensus body should visit http://www.iicrc.org/standards/s400/ to download the application form. Complete applications should be emailed to IICRC Standards at
